Machining-path mapping from free-state to clamped-state for thin-walled parts

چکیده
Thin-walled parts with curved surface are widely used in industrial applications and the high-quality machining is still a major problem because of low stiffness. By using machining-path obtained from design model thin-walled surface, accuracy requirement may easily not be met due to springback clamping deformation when process finished. It novel idea that mapping free-state clamped-state realized based on deformation, final can re-designed directly ensure after fixture released. Based concomitant thought elastic theory thin shell this study, mathematical for established surface. Then, corresponding relationship cutter contact (CC) points calculated by grid mapping. Finally, under clamped-state. Taking cylinder workpiece as an example, experiment results show proposed method achieve avoiding purpose error caused deformation. These research achievements vital importance realizing

Layered Manufacturing of Thin-walled Parts
We describe a new algorithm we have developed for making partially hollow layered parts with thin, dense walls of approximately uniform thickness, for faster build times and reduced material usage. We have implemented our algorithm on a fused deposition modeling (FDM) machine, using separate build volumes for a loosely filled interior and a thin, solid, exterior wall. The build volumes are deri...
متن کاملState Maps from Integration by Parts
A fundamental concept in mathematical systems theory concerns the notion of state. Roughly speaking, the state of a system at a particular time instant is all one needs to know about the past to characterize the future behavior. In this talk we revisit the following classical question: given a set of linear higher-order differential equations in the external variables (i.e., inputs and outputs)...
متن کاملAn innovative subdivision-ICP registration method for tool-path correction applied to deformed aircraft parts machining
A new and fast registration algorithm has been proposed to update the tool-path of a deburring robot, intended to machining composite workpieces under gravity and clamping deformations. A Subdivision Iterative Closest Point algorithm, which considers different parts of the contour with respect to curvature, allows to obtain far better results than classical methods, without complicated assumpti...
متن کاملStable Milling of Thin-Walled Parts with Variable Dynamics
The milling of thin-walled parts can become a seriously complex problem. In this work, the problem of the variable dynamics of a test part has been solved through the calculation of 3D stability lobes which add a third dimension with the tool position along the part, to the traditional depth of cut-spindle speed pair. First, the dynamics of a test part in several machining steps have been calcu...
متن کاملA New Methodology to Extract Machining Features From Prismatic Parts
Feature recognition systems are now widely identified as a cornerstone for conceiving an automated process planning system. Various techniques have been reported in the literature, but a few of them acquired a status of generic methodology. This research aims to exploit the concept of automatic feature recognition system. The boundary (B-rep) geometrical information of the part design is analyz...
